Therapy for Stress Management

Are you feeling stressed out, small, and burnt out? Do things at work, school, and/or home, seem overwhelming and unmanageable? Do you find yourself saying “yes,” when you want to say, “no?”

You’re driven, motivated, and take pride in meeting all the demands you and others place upon you. But along with that natural drive to achieve your goals and be everything for everyone, you’re also:

  • Putting increased pressure on yourself (or receiving it from your boss, your teachers, your partners, family, and friends) and afraid to set boundaries, which causes you to feel anxious and afraid of letting anyone (including yourself) down

  • Feeling stressed and guilty if you can’t or maybe don’t even want to do what is being asked or expected of you

  • Struggling to maintain a healthy balance — between the competing demands on your time and energy, you don’t know what boundaries to set or how to set them with yourself and with others, or to ask for what you need

  • Feeling burnt out, causing you to question if you’re in the right line of work at all, if you made the right decisions for your life, or if you’re doomed to feel overwhelmed and stressed forever

It doesn’t have to be this way!

It may feel impossible now, but you can live a balanced life.

Therapy for stress management is about helping you combat the feeling of being overwhelmed, set healthier boundaries to protect your time and emotional/physical energy, and ultimately be more effective at work, at home, and/or at school.

In our work together, you will learn to:

  • identify sources of stress, what makes it worse and what tools you already have to cope

  • overcome fears related to setting boundaries at work, school, and in your relationships, that contribute to your overwhelm, and to manage feelings of guilt around setting those boundaries

  • set manageable expectations around the demands on your time, obligations, and showing up for others

  • ask for what you need, share your opinion, and say no, as well as not pressing yourself to attend every event

  • sleep better

  • have healthier relationships — with others and yourself, at home and at work

  • experience less burnout and stress and feel more joy

Stress is a part of life, sure, but when it’s overwhelming, it’s time for a change. It’s possible and I’m here to help.
